BLUSH & BRUSH

After following Miss Tanya Burr obsessively on YouTube, I have come to try all her beauty bag recommendations. The first essential tools are definitely the brushes. She uses her Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman, Buffing brush for all liquid foundation applications. It gives her a flawless look that is simply buffed in to the skin, buffing over any streaks and harsh lines.

It was then that I came to realize that It is was sold in Boots for just twenty pounds, along with the Real Techniques contour, foundation and detail brush in a small but sweet compact case, known as the 'core collection'. This is definitely a great cheaper alternative to the Sigma brushes from the USA at $9 an individual brush, and I can carry the case around in the knowledge that the brushes will not get messy from my busy make-up bag!

The buffing brush has definitely become a favourite! The beauty of this brush is that you only need to use small bits of foundation in order for a overall coverage that avoids cakey-ness.

All Samantha Chapman's brushes in this compact serve an alternative purpose. It is your preference on what you choose to use it for - there are no rules in beauty! The flat tapered foundation brush, meant for liquid foundation is way too small for full face coverage and therefore I use this for concealer and some highlighting - a little goes a long way. Job is a good'n! The small detail brush I use for eye shadow. Preferably I use this for paint pot as it is is so flat and delicate. It is perfect for a small amount, and then a gradual build up. This brush can also be used for eye shadow under the water-line, especially when creating that smokey eye look.

The contour brush is as light as air, that is simply allows you to swish a small application of blushes on to your cheeks. It definitely does what is says on the packet - contouring and defining cheek bones.

These brushes are like small magical wands. Samantha Chapman never ceases to amaze me.
